3G 3G!

When I came to Chongqing half a year ago I told myself not to buy any fancy mobile phones, because I bought an expensive intelligent phone which was produced by a Taiwan company in Nanjing last year, and it was stolen in Shenzhen, in my room of a 5-star hotel. I then bought a new one in Long Beach, $500USD 3G phone, but I cannot use it in China!
Yesterday I was told by a friend that AT&T and other American carriers use CDMA system or network, whatever. In China, China Mobile does not support this system or network, that was why I couldn't make my phone work. I went to China Telecom this afternoon to get another SIM card, but they make things difficult for a non-Chongqing subscriber like me, I had to give up.
I don't really need those fashion elements in a phone, my main must-have to a new phone is email. I need to check emails when I travel, in the airport, construction site, etc. And I need to use the phone to take photos and send them to someone immediately. Can anyone introduce some simple packages to me?
Another story:
Yesterday I saw on the TV that a new phone called Obee is being sold and you can make long distance calls for free, even it is an international call! The mobile phone looks nice and only cost 900 Yuan. I was interested and called them, the boy said he would call me back and asked me to watch their commercial on TV first. Around half an hour later he called me back, I let my friend answer his call because he has doubt to that and he is more familiar with these stuff. After about ten minutes my friend hung up the phone and told me:"He is rude and they are liars! They just want to get your credit card information and your address, and refused to answer my technical questions." I remembered the boy's phone number is in Shanghai.
This afternoon a girl called me from Beijing, she said she is a representative of the manufacturer and she could answer my questions better. I asked her if it is true that I can use their mobile phone to call another city and another country for free, she said no. I can only call another city in the same province for free! Of course I wouldn't buy such a phone and refused her, she was also rude to hang up before I finish saying "Thank you anyway."
So I called 12315 and told them the local TV station is broadcasting cheating commercials. The girl said:"first of all, the TV station has not responsibility to check if the commercial/advertisements are true or not, 2nd, you should call Shanghai's 12315 and let them handle this. It's not our responsibility to take care of this."
Is there anyone that knows 12315 actually can do things in China?

It' s no use asking 12315 for help. Though there are many people in China, not everyone fulfills his/her duty.

Don't trust 12315. It makes people feel frustration.

I like using M8 of MeiZu. It is made by china company. It will cost 1999 yuan.
I think it's better than 5530xm of Nokia. It is like Iphone. Maybe you can choose 5530xm or M8. If you want a mobile of 3G. You can choose 5800i of Nokia.

    English hints for fearless leader!

    >>fancy mobile phones
I like to say "all these tech companies want $50 a month.  $50 for a cell phone, for cable TV, for high speed internet service.  That's $600 a year. It is crazy!" But people still pay!

    >> it was stolen . . . 5-star hotel.
Duh.  Never leave anything of value in your room!

I was going to find a few errors I noticed earlier in your blog.  But I'm too sleepy now to find them!  I read quite well, so it is probably only minor changes rather than serious errors.

Thank you for you guys' advices. I just want to use a phone for business, so I guess a simple version of BlackBerry should work for me. If it's cheap, I will not worry it is stolen again.
BTW, I am in Qufu with my designer, my clients like him and it seems we'll sign a contract with an amount of around $380,000USD, and my commission willmake my bank accounts look good for a while.
