Irresponsible Shanghai Airline made me stuck in Pudong Airport

It's 20:58, my flight which was supposed to depart 100 minutes ago was cancelled by Shanghai Airline. Most of guests are angry because the airline refused to provide foods and hotel for tonight, they also refused to fly us to Chengdu which is close to Chongqing, they offered to refund the air fair but there will be no flights tomorrow, which was discovered by some guests. Even there will be another flight for us, they should provide a hotel room for us, right?
I am lucky that I do not have an urgent appointment tomorrow but I do need to meet an important client as early as possible in Chongqing. So this cancellation of flight really sucked me up.
We are still waiting for some sort of managers of Shanghai Airline to talk to us, but so far there are just 3 pool girls trying to explain why they cannot do what we are requesting.
I am afraid no manager will show up tonight and no solution will be provided. Now some passengers are out of control, maybe I will see fight in the airport?

Why egg?  It is for the airline, not for you!

The last time my flight was cancelled I was not pleased.  The airline left us waiting in a very long line to start with.  Then they line finally started moving after an hour. After that, the started pulling people out of the line for specific flights.  After two hours they finally told us our flight was cancelled but gave us no idea as to why.  They made us continue to stand in line but gave us not information except some vague idea that they were working on "something."  Finally, after all other flights had left, they told us the next flight would be in the next day.  Each of us would have to, you guess it, wait in line while they re-booked a flight for each of us.  Seven hours after I left the house, I was back at home again!  All I received for my trouble was a voucher worth $100 for a discount on my "next flight" which, of course, I never used.

Personally, I hate the system.  But we "elect" airlines like we "elect" government officials.  That is, we want the cheapest price and get the worst possible service as a result.  Price drives the industry.   When I worked for the government, I often chose to drive on my own time rather than fly on the government's time.

    English:

    >>the airline refused to provide foods and hotel for tonight,
I have had a motel paid for by the airline, but I've only been bumped off a flight once or twice while traveling.

    >>Even there will be another flight for us,
    "Even if there . . ."

    >> they should provide a hotel room for us, right?
    Of course!

    >>Now some passengers are out of control, maybe I will see fight in the airport?
In the US, if a passenger causes any kind of disturbance in an airport, they will be immediately arrested.  If they start yelling or threatening, they are treated like terrorists and immediately arrested!  HA!  I imagine that happens in China as well, but I have no idea.

By the way, if flying is so safe, why is "pilot" listed as the second most lkely job to kill you?  See: http://money.cnn.com/2007/08/07/pf/2006_most_dangerous_jobs/index.htm

I did the math!  They say "driving is seven times more dangerous than flying."  But you have to consider how this is calculated.  It is "by the mile."  That is, it takes me eleven hours to drive to Atlanta, Georgia.  If I fly, the plane arrives in about 90 minutes.  So, by the mile, driving is seven times more dangerous.  But what about "by the hour."  If I spend eleven hours on a plane or eleven hours in a car, the chance of dying is about equal!!!!  The airlines don't want you to calculate by the hour.  They want you to calculate by the mile!!!!

I think if people knew just how dangerous flying really is, we would have more trains in the US.  I think riding by train is safest.  See: http://www.geocities.com/dtmcbride/travel/train-plane-car.html

The hazard on that website is listed "by mile", but as I've said above "by hour" is more important.  Trains not only have a much lower passenger death rate by mile, but since they are as slow as cars in the US, the death rate by hour is also much lower than by car or plane.

Unfortunately, the nearest train station to my home is a four hour drive away.  It only goes to Chicago or New Orleans (north or south).  If I want to go east or west by train, I have to first go north or south!  Even the seven million people in Atlanta, Georgia have only one train a day and it only goes east or west, not north or south.  From Atlanta, you either have to go to New Orleans or to New York if you want to end up in Chicago!

Anyway, enjoy your flight.  Don't forget your parachute!  HA!

I am home now, half an hour ago. Shanghai Airline finally agreed to send 66 of us to a hotel, and arranged a bigger plane Boeing 767 for this morning's flight so there were more empty seats for us. At least we're all safe.
Last night I had to share the hotel room with a man, I was a little uncomfortable with that arrangement but it turned out OK.
I am moving out of Chongqing in a few days, the Atlanta architect and I decided not to take this job since the client has been more and more difficult and we were about to sign another contract for a beautiful resort's clubhouse design. Shandong people are more pleasant to work with.
