Perseverance and confidence

Recently I have been a little lazy. I feel like doing nothing but eating and sleeping. I want to be a perfect translator, but I find it is too hard. I doubt whether I can achieve it. I have read the messages in the translation Enflish corner. Translation is not what I have thought before. It seems rather difficult that I even don't know how to start to learn it. I know I love English, but faced with so many words, I flee with fear .
Today my teacher talked about her experiences in the university with me. After hearing what she said, I believe that I can be a perfect translator, only if I have perseverance and confidence.
And I want to know how to be a translator.I don't know how to start. I think I need to set a direction.

Let's talk about it!  I'm learning the skill myself.  Perhaps our skills are complimentary.  We can help each other.  For now?  I know I REALLY need to study the Chinese language much harder than in the past!

I had a little more time and re-read what you wrote.  I only found a single tiny error.  Can you find it?  It is in the last few sentences.  I find you have a good command of the English language when you put your mind to the task.

As for the mastery of many words, think about this.  To master Chinese, you have to read many things.  You cannot learn 10,000 characters without learning a few one at a time.  The same thing goes for English.  You cannot learn 10,000 characters in 24 hours.  It takes some time.  When I started college I could not read very fast (and I was reading English).  But in four years my reading speed went from 100 to 400 words a minute.  So, you can improve your reading speed too!

I agree!  Remember Chinese and English are proper nouns (specific languages).  Also, another hint.  We say "make friends" because there is more than one person involved.

Rainysky:  the only error I found in the original message was a missing space after a period in the last line.  I'm not sure why you say "I have found so many errors" because in that message I found no others.  Perhaps you refer to something else?

"I don't know how to start." is a perfectly good sentence.  It is better than adding "it" at the end!  I've always heard there's a Chinese saying that would work here: "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
