Music Review 2

I am very tired today; I don’t even want to move my fingers. But my mom said if you make a promise, you’d better keep it. So cheer up, let’s enjoy our exciting music tour now!

Tonight I will give you the second group songs, well it start from a lazy one called 11/22 by Buddy.

10) Buddy - 11/22

The Buddy band created a very special type of music called “wimpycore”, which can be separated into two words: wimpy and core. They mean the weak and ineffectual inside. Their singing style is kind of like a lazy and tired person whining about the unsatisfied life, but actually don’t have a solution and have to accept the reality at last. I guess 11/22 is a date which is the day the two people in the song broke up. I feel the man in the song didn’t want to leave his GF, he really loved her but he just held her too tight making her want to escaping from him. When love deteriorated, you probably have to let it go, to set it free. Maybe it hurts at first, but someday you will find its worth which is the best thing to do for both of you.

11) Club 8 - whatever you want

In love we always want to be the perfect person in each other’s heart, but we can’t. We can only be ourselves, so don’t try to change your lover. Love is a lesson which teaches us definitions of acceptance and compromise. Don’t make your relationship like a fierce war; relaxing and humming the tune with music, lalalala~

12) Metric - Too Little Too Late

A typical Britpop music, you can feel the drumbeats and bass in the music describing a confused, uninhabited young person, creating a kind of decadent sentiments.

13) 我在那一角落患过伤风

To be honest, I used to hate this song because some tacky commercial ads really sabotaged its impression on my mind. Then I found it actually came from a musical novel concept record, so I read the relevant story from that novel. The combination of music and story really changed my impression about this song; it gives this song a brand new meaning. I recommend this concept record to you all – 只能谈情，不能说爱.

14）神山纯一 - 夏の终わりに

 Nature music which is always my first choice to relax my nerve and to help me pulling out from complicated life. It is a kind of self-curing therapy.

15) Carpenters – Superstar

How can a person have such a great voice? But Karen Carpenter has, her voice bowls off people who has ever listened to her music, like love at first sight. Her voice must be kissed by god; there is a kind of magic in her song to catch every single listener’s soul. Though the way she died really breaks a lot fans’ heart, let’s focus on the music she left us, which is the eternal one.

16) Chyi - Donde Voy

Donde voy is Spanish which means where I go.

There is always a woman, drinking alone in a bar, wearing a long red dress and smoking a cigarette. She is the most charming woman in the whole room; all men in here want to buy a drink for her. However, none knows under her pink rose cheeks and graceful body what’s on her mind and what she had been through.

She used to be a naïve girl who believed love fairytales, and then one day she uncontrollable and irresistible fell in love with a man who is the most gorgeous person she had ever seen before. Their love is so strong and powerful which makes her felt they can conquer everything and live happily ever after from now on. However, beautiful things are so frail; her prince charming fell in love with another girl and left her. After she had suffered all the pains she could ever had, now she is here drinking all alone.

“Donde voy?” a brave guy asked her.

“Solo estoy…” she answered.

17) Petronella – Melukai(means hurt)

A Malay song which I don’t understand the lyrics, so just enjoy the music and use your imagination^_^

18) Eliza Gilkyson - Paradise Hotel

Lyrics are sooooo good!

Give them to you, just savoring those words and you’ll learn a lot!
